This porter represents a style which is today commonly referred to as the Baltic Porter.
It originated from the British” Export Porter/ Imperial Stout” which used to be exported to the Baltic States

Soon, here too British style beer brewing becomes popular. Grand Imperial Porter is the brewery
interpretation of that style. Its recipe is entirely developed in the Amber Brewery.
Its name is coined at the meeting in the seaside health resort of Sopot. And Sopot means Grand Hotel
associated with splendor old-time ambience, slightly “imperial” style. A café smelling Italian coffee,
Cuban cigars and Belgian chocolate, and offering magnificent view of the sea which once carried
the ships coming from the British Empire.

Bosnia & Hercegovina:

Banjalucka Pivara (brewery) was founded in 1873 by the monks of the monastery Maria Star
to produce beer for their own needs.  These monks belonged to the Trappist order with the world
known old monastic tradition of preparing a good beer. Their beer recipes remained strictly
guarded through the centuries.  Many of the Trappist monasteries and breweries were destroyed
during the revolutions and world wars. Among the monastic breweries, the Trappists were certainly
the most active brewers: in the last 300 years, there were at least nine Trappist breweries
in Europe. One of them, Banjalucka Pivara located in Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina,
is still active and produces beers based on Trappist monks’ old recipes.

TIMISOREANA
With its clean bright color and consistent foam Timisoreana is a great tasting easy-to-drink beer.
Nice clean pale pilsner . Clean aroma .
Rolling CO2 visble.  Its pilsner bite is much less than other beers  that have been classified as pilsner.
Smooth and rather refreshing, pleasantly surprised.
Good amount of pleasing CO2  Perhaps this is what pilsner really should taste like.

Spain:

AMBAR ESPECIAL

Beer poured a nice amber-gold with a decent tan head.
Mostly a fresh malty nose on this beer. Hints of bread and perhaps a little fruit.
Taste is a little on the sweeter side due to a large doze of malts.
Mouth feel was creamy, drinkablity was average.

Beer from Lithuania
Beer from Lithuania

Lithuania:

KALNAPILIS
"Original" Lager, 7:30 and Grand   new
Kalnapilis in Lithuanian means “a castle on a hill”.
In 1994 the Kalnapilis brewery established a joint venture with Baltic Beverages Holding, which
allowed Kalnapilis to be brought up to the most modern brewing standards in the world.
Kalnapilis celebrated its 95th anniversary in 1997 and thanks to the modernization of the brewery
became the Number 1 beer on the Lithuanian market. Kalnapilis is serious about the taste of its beer.
Just how serious? Kalnapilis labels contain indicators – when the beer is cooled to the right serving
temperature, the contour of a dark glass appears on a white background – so that consumers may
enjoy the best taste of Kalnapilis at the correct serving temperature.
This proves how seriously Kalnapilis thinks of preserving the taste of its beer.
Kalnapilis beer has a light, pale, good for everyday, refreshing taste and is excellent at quenching
the heartiest thirst. Kalnapilis beer is perfect for those who seek to lead a distinguishing,
unconventional way of life, free from restraints and stereotypes.
Pick up some Kalnapilis and taste the best that Lithuania has to offer.

breweries in Birzai region that produce more than 15 mln liters of beer per year for just 35
thousand population of Birzai! Birzai people have deep beer drinking traditions and one person

that the beer is very light. Unfortunately, they find themselves ending the party too early…
If you have never visited Lithuania it is worth to come here and see kind and merry people of Birzai

and innovations of the modern days. That makes Rinkuskiai beer one of the most exclusive in Lithuania.

Zaibo             back in stock
Pours a pretty, clear copper/gold color with a light fluffy but quickly deflating white head.
Very small amount of lacing. It smells of light fruit scents. Mostly apple, pear, and strawberry.
Some malt scents, as well as a noticeable alcohol presence. Light and spicy citrus flavor right
up front, disperses into a very sweet caramel with a small amount of citrus.
Hops and caramel linger lightly in the aftertaste. A tiny hint of lemon slips in when everything
else is gone. Light and spicy from the carbonation, but with enough body to not be watery.
Plenty of potent flavor. You can't taste the abv at all. Very smooth and a somewhat bitter finish.
Naturally fermented.
The best-known beer in Lithuania!

Lobster Lovers Beer
Euro style

This interesting selection pours a very clear, brilliant gold with tons of tight rising carbonation.
The soapy, egg shell white head holds well and leaves some decent, spotty lace.
Certainly characteristic of a quality lager. Aroma is actually very nice. Lots of sweet malt, apple,
corn, some faint hops, coriander and a splash of citrus and honey mixed in for good measure.
Initial flavor is sweet, balanced citrus and apple. Lots of sweet honey and toasty malt.
Citrus, apple, and a bit of sour cherry is detectable. Lots of character and a hint of booze induced
warmth. Smooth, mellow and very well balanced. The caramel/honey sweetness really lingers too.
The booze is well hidden and palatable. Clean but with a nice lingering buttery texture.
Slick and a bit creamy taste in the finish. A definite buttery character in the flavor and the texture
makes this brew go well with lobster. Extremely well crafted. Naturally fermented.

Pale Ale
Golden crystal clear color with a thin white head. Aroma is lightly spicy, lightly sweet, but fairly
benign. Flavor is a fairly well balanced pilsner - yes, it would probably go great with lobster as it is
not a very flavorful beer and would not overpower the subtle sweet flavor of the lobster.
Appearance is clear dark yellow, wispy white head, aroma: sweet cereal malt aroma with light floral
hops and flavor: sweet malt flavor with a lot of grain character, candy sweetness, light balancing
bitterness.
Naturally fermented.

White Porter
This is light color beer, against all porters beeing dark and malty.
Is mild  in taste with just a touch of bitterness,
that even people who don't like beer like this one.

Werewolf Beers
Lithuania’s world-famous beer-making traditions take their roots in antiquity.
Lithuanians know their beer and truly appreciate this remarkable potation.
Today many old families possess unique beer recipes passed down to them from generation
to generation. These are genuine relics of the past and part of the rich Lithuanian heritage.

One ancient Lithuanian legend tells the story of a young man who was in love with a girl
of exceptional beauty.  Alas, he knew not how to win her heart.
But he did have old family recipes for brewing some extraordinary beers, for they came from
his great-great-great-grandmother, allegedly a witch.  And the young man decided to treat the
object of his affection to one of these concoctions and brewed it himself, employing the
lover-enchanting recipe.  One night the fair maiden tasted the freshly-made beer and,
to our lad’s great horror, transformed into a wolf right on the spot.
Apparently the young man somehow mixed up the witch’s recipes…

What happened next is another story for another time.  For now, think hard whether you really
want to try this beer, made according to an ancient recipe.

Pale Lager
Si
mple amber that is crystal-clear and bright. The eggshell colored cap looks pretty good too.
Nice chewy texture, the persistence and the amount of lace. Smell of untoasted grain,
sweet malt with light floral hops. Sweet malt flavor, touch of candy sweetness, light bitterness.
Naturally fermented.

Darker Lager
Pours with a tall lingering froth. Beautiful caramel, copper color. Wispy beige head.
Complex smell. Aromas of sweet malts, spicy hops, wet hay, plum, brown sugar.
Taste is complex too. Flavor of rich sweet malts,  caramel. Lots of toffee.
Full nectar with good carbonation. Hides the alcohol very well. A mild malty sweetness ensues
as the werewolf attacks with its high abv. Nice chewy texture.
Overall it has an earthy presence and finishes dry bittered nicely.

Ziguly 95
Pale straw gold body, perfectly transparent. Ultra thin, quickly gone white carby head.
Aroma has a nice light faint sweetness that is quite pleasant. You can almost get a slight banana
aroma with a bit of corn. Taste has a nice sharp bitterness yet not a speck of hop aroma or flavor.
Finishes light-sweet with the same lingering bitterness that has been since the beginning along with
a very warming finish. Very drinkable, enjoyable, refreshing and refined beer.
Naturally fermented.

Ziguly Grande 12
This is special brew. Naturaly fermented

Gedimino
Golden yellow color. Decent white head. Low retention level. Light lacing. Light banana smell tones. Good corn malts in the nose. Light sweetness. Serious corn malts, slight sweet breakfast malt flavor. Light to medium body. Solid carbonation level. Clean and crisp, very mellow. Very drinkable and pleasant lager. Not bad for warm weather or just something light.

Bierjue

The taste is sweet, and unforgettable, some of the cinnamon roll flavor comes thought. This is a strange beer. It pours with a decent finger of foam, then fades. The smell is sweet cooked grain, and caramelized sugars. Color is a nice deep reddish amber. Very sweet and grainy like a German Bock.

Before & After

Golden yellow color. Decent white head. Low retention level. Light lacing. Light banana smell tones. Good corn malts in the nose. Light sweetness. Serious corn malts, slight sweet breakfast malt flavor. Light to medium body. Solid carbonation level. Clean and crisp, very mellow. Very drinkable and pleasant lager. Not bad for warm weather or just something light.

Aiko Stiprus
Pours a nice clear amber color with a hint of orange and little white head. Smell of malt and barley. On the tongue and in the mouth, the beer is crisp and refreshing. There is a bit of fruitiness in the flavor. A mild herbal bitterness helps balance some of the sweetness, but still quite sweet and sticky. Alcohol is very well concealed. A good amount of malts and barley give the beer a sweet taste that does an excellent job of masking the 9.5 abv. Naturally fermented.

ZHIGULEVSKOE
euro Pale Lager.
The Lithuanian version of everyone's favourite Russian lager.

Based on special barley malt and aroma hops.

Special brew for Christmas
Missing Elf
Dopplebock.
Brilliantly crystal clear. It's a golden honey color with little bubbles floating up.
A light creamy head forms at first, then fades to small clumps of bubbles around.
Starts with a light crisp lager like nose, with hints of honey and sweet malts.
Digger deeper reveals the slightest hints of European malts, touches of alcohol sweetness,
almost Belgian candy sugar, and quite a bit like a Belgian triple.
Starts pretty sweet, as one would expect. More European/Belgian like malt.
Some bitterness starts to come through a bit and it starts to dry off very fast long before the
sip is even finished. Some honey flavors come out, and fermented honey dryness.
Some interesting earthy flavors come out as well that I can't really say where they are from,
perhaps the yeast, and adds almost the faintest hint of metal. It hides the alcohol pretty well
with the initial sweetness, and you only get the slightest alcohol warmth.
Very dry but still slightly sticky. It leaves your mouth fresh feeling like mouthwash even though
there was no initial alcohol burn your mouth feels it after, with a touch of stickiness
It also has that earthy bitterness lingering a bit as well. The honey flavor seems to linger as well
for a while and presents that dry feel and even dry flavor.
It's also pretty dangerous as halfway through the beer you can already feel it getting on top of you
being 9.5% and doesn't feel like it at all. Naturally fermented.

Petrus

Many beers have a long maturation, but this one has 24-30 months, in wood. "Pale" This beer has an "old gold" to bronze color, rather than the Burgundy more common in the breweries of West Flanders. It is a pale version of the traditional local style (which has no name, but for which I have used terms like Sweet and Sour Flemish Red Ale). This new beer is made only with pale malts, and is unblended. It has 24-30 months in wood, and emerges with an oaky aroma; hints of sherry (a Palo Cortado nuttiness and fruit, among a depth of flavors; the classic sourness in the finish; and an intentionally low carbonation

BROUWERIJ VAN EECKE
Poperings Hommel Ale
Specialty Ale: This beer is a one of a kind ale, that you can best classify with the other Strong Golden Ales from Belgium. What makes it special is of course the yeast, and what makes it unique is the higher amounts of hops used. This beer has about twice the bitterness of other Belgian beers. We can not expect less, since this beer has been brewed for centuries in the heart of the Belgian hops region: Poperinge. Indeed, the small village of Watou is today part of the city of Poperinge. "Hommel" is the local word to identify hops, and it may come from the Latin word "humulus", used to identify hops. Some people in Poperinge believe it is the other way around: the local word was the source for the monks-scientist, many centuries ago, to create the word "humulus". Poperings Hommel ale is brewed with a blend of summer, winter and aromatic pale malts. The brewery has its own well where soft water is found, and only local grown hops from the Gold and Hallertau family are used.

Oranjeboom

Oranjeboom is a Dutch lager brand owned by United Dutch Breweries BV. The main beer produced under the brand name is Oranjeboom Premium Pilsner .Summer thirst quencher. Worth having a few in the refrigerator when you need to hit that spot.

A nice white foamy head forms beneath a clear light golden body. The carbonation is very impressive, constant rising bubbles. As you stick your nose over the glass you’ll quickly notice the malt, however the hops are very strong and there is a hint of spice. The flavor is certainly sweet initially, however this does quickly turn to a sharp, hoppy dryness. The finish is distinctively dry, but very satisfyingly so. The sweet malt at the start followed by the crisp dry finish make this a very enjoyable brew.

Oranjeboom proves that there’s never a reason to buy Bud again.

Peter’s Dutch Beer
It is bright yellow gold in color with a medium aroma of hops and malt. Its flavor is one of light hop with plenty of complexity and character, finishing with a long dry hop aftertaste. A good alternative to to the thin, watered down taste of cheap local brands, and offers a price alternative to expensive beer imports. It is after all, a great-tasting import without the expensive price tag.

This ale is cold filtered to retain flavour.

CROPTON BREWERY

Beer has been brewed in Cropton since 1613. The early brews were illegal, and any wrong do-ers were sent to York Gaol. In 1984, the ancient craft of brewing returned to the village when Cropton Brewery was established in the cellars of the New Inn.
