Wine

Montenegro is a small country on the western side of the Balkan Peninsula, its western border defined by the meeting point between the Adriatic and Ionian Seas. A typical southern European country, the Montenegrin landscape is relatively dry, mountainous and definitively Mediterranean. It is no surprise, then, to find that there is a long-established culture of viticulture and winemaking here.


Plantaze Winery
The company ?13.julPlantaze? was found in1963. Having the annual production of some 22 million kilograms is the biggest producer of wine and table grape in the region. The market leadership is also confirmed by the placement of more them 17 million bottles of wine and grape brandy per year.
The specific characteristics of the company is the strategy based on autochthonous vine varieties Vranac and Krstac and the products of top quality wines with geographic origin. The wines are exported to 25 different countries around the world. The company also own peach orchard, while the production vine propagation material and grape vine rootstock mother plants has also been organized. A fish pond, a cooler two restaurants, several retail stores and equestrian club also belong to the company. The wine tourism has been expanding in the recent years.
Krstac Plantaze
Krstac wine is superb wine of the controlled origin has been produced by application of the select vintage and classic technology of the autochthonous variety of the same name which has been grown in the wine growing area of Podgorica. The distinguishing qualities of Kristac are: remarkable bouquet and fresh and pleasant taste. Extraordinary full body harmoniously developed bouquet and light yellow color.
Chardonnay Plantaze
Excellent white wine of a remarkable fruit bouquet, light flavor and appellation d’orgine controlles. Chardonnay Plantaze of Podgorica is of a very characteristic, discrete, but clear smell. Chardonnay wine is harmonious and elegant. This wine is characterized by beautiful fruit acid.
Cabernet Plantaze
Cabernet wine is refined red wine from a variety of carefully selected grapes from outstanding Podgorica vineyards in Montenegro. It was awarded many times in the country and around the world. It achieved the highest acknowledgment in 1999 by the International community in Brussels called “they gave the hallmark to the 20th century.
Merlot Plantaze
Merlot wine-Montenegrin premium red wine. The famous French variety has preserved its best properties in the vineyards around Podgorica but it has also gained gentleness and subtleties thanks to the sun, stones and vines and the contrast of Mediterranean and continental climate. Merlot wine is of appellation d’origine controllee.
Vranac Plantaze
An indigenous grape variety giving a select red wine of appellation d’origine controlles. Dark ruby in color with a hue of violet, harmoniums strong and savory. Those qualities of Vranac wine made the group of expert from Milan Journal il Monda classify it into a group of 100 best red wines in Europe. The wine of dark ruby color, pleasant variety fruit odor, warm, full harmonious and temperamental at the taste.
Vranac Pro Corde
Montenegrin premium, dark red wine, full of extracts. Prevailing grape variety Kratoshija and Cabernet Sauvignon. Po Corde should be served at the temperatures 17-19 C range. (62.6 -66.2F).
The wine is strongly tannic, but harmonious typical for the wine, slightly herbal with traces of the forest fruit. The Pro Corde by the Plantaze Winery is a reserve quality example of an extremely well-made Vranac produced with selected grape material of this sizable estate. This crowd pleaser sports a deep, almost purple color and a rich fruit extract. Black berries and supple cherry tones dominate the aromas, bursting into a pleasurable harmonious experience on the palate.The dark ruby full bodied and harmonious wine has a unique bouquet. Vranac Pro Corde is a wine of controlled appellation produced from an autochthonous grapevine variety grown in the Podgorica wine growing region. Recommended to be served with red meats dishes, very spicy and fatty, all game meats, prosciutto as well as with fatty cheese of strongly expressed smell.
Monte Cheval Vranac 

Very dark in colour, almost black even. It's very fruity, and is soft on the tongue. This hearty if not very expressive red is made from 90 per cent vranac grape, with a touch of cabernet sauvignon. The Monte Cheval  Vranac is quite substantial and smooth, with indistinct sour berry fruit, leather and earth.  Monte Cheval Vranac 2007. Vranac is an ancient, indigenous variety in the Balkans . The name translates as "black stallion," which will give you some idea of the power of this wine. It has a rustic, medium garnet; leather and earth with a hint of plum and spice; earthy dried fruit flavour with a hint of spice. Stew and casseroles.
